Eating at Buzzard House will be shaped by the seasons and ingredients are sourced from local suppliers where possible. We aim to use the best that Herefordshire has to offer. Meat comes from local farms and is of top quality. We grow some of our own fruit, vegetables and herbs, but there are plenty of local people to make up the shortfall. We are well supplied with game from local dealers and so have pigeon, pheasant and partridge available on a regular basis. Our fish usually comes from Cornwall. Whilst our suppliers may change over time our current suppliers are credited on our daily menu.
Similarly, our wine list has been developed and supplied through local vintners.
Breakfast is included in the room rate and is served in the dinning room. Whilst breakfast is normally available from 8.30am we will do our best to accommodate any specific request. A sample breakfast is shown below:
- Freshfruit, yoghurt and home made granola
- Local apple juice
- A choice of The Herefordshire Big Breakfast or Scrambled Eggs with Smoked Salmon
- Teas and Coffee
- Toast, jam and marmalade.
An optional three course meal is offered at a cost of £35 per person. Guests are asked to give us at least 24-hours notice if they wish to have dinner, so a menu can be designed around any allergies or food dislikes they might have.
Before dinner hors d’oeuvres will be served with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine in the lounge at 7pm. Dinner will be served at a communal table in our conservatory dining room at 7.30pm. A sample dinner menu is shown below:
Smoked salmon with avocado mousse, dill and horseradish blinis.
Roast Baby Chicken, mushroom and cream sauce
Pear Tart Tartin
We are fully licenced and wines, ciders and beers and spirits are available for purchase. Like our food menu we try and showcase local produce where possible.
Our wine list usually offers four whites and four reds, at least one of each is also available by the glass. Sparkling and dessert wines are also available by the bottle.
